Running away

Is it summer time yet?

Spring Break 2014 you are treating me well. So far this week I have stayed up till 2 am, ate on the beach twice, spent a day on the beach, rode scoot coupes down the strip, had a bonfire on the dock and attempted to tan in the 69 degree sun and wind. 

Today we get the pontoon out and head to shell island! 

I will leave you loves with my view for the week.

minor dream accomplished

Pinterest. Teachers Pay Teachers. These are a few of my favorite things. 

When I was preparing my classroom this summer, I spent many afternoons and nights searching other teachers blogs and Pinterest for ideas. I dreamed of having fun and colorful lessons every week. Hands on activities that the kids would love and I could take pictures of and everyone would be impressed and I wouldn't be stressed or troubled. 

Dreamed. I dreamed. Clearly that's not my reality. But lately, I have somehow had time and had fun lessons that the kids enjoyed doing ... they didn't even realize they were learning! :) HA! And guess what I took pictures. SHOCKER!!! Dream accomplished! Much of what we did didn't even make it to the hallway! There was just so much fun and learning in room 4.223!

We created our own superlative adjective sentences after reading the book Things that are Most in the World! The kids were so creative with this activity!

Fraction Ice Cream was a little more stressful than I hoped. But it's cute and taught the lesson! They picked how many scoops of ice cream they wanted and then decided what fractional amount they would have in their bowl.

This is what I dreamed of when I thought about my dream classroom. This makes my little heart happy. 

Happy teacher. Happy classroom. 

5 days.

They say your first year of teaching is always the hardest. Man. If it's not, I don't know how I will continue. This year is kicking my butt. Literally I'm falling apart. Monday- Friday I pull 9-10 hour workdays, Saturdays I take off, and Sundays I'm back in the books trying to figure out how to fit EVERYTHING into the next 16 days before the CRCT. 

16. Sixteen. 1-6 days until the big CRCT. 

I can't. 

I just can't. 

With the stress of teaching I started running again... bad idea. I messed up my knee again. Doc is sending me to a specialist and I'm headed to possibly be getting injections in my knee. I'm too young for all this stress and pain. 

BUT PRAISE THE LORD SPRING BREAK IS NEXT WEEK! Only five school days left until I am on vacation. Really only four teaching days, because Thursday we are going on a field trip. (Prayers are being accepted now!)

Psalms

I have been reading through Psalms this month. When I started reading it I didn't know why the Lord was telling me to read this part of the bible. I am so glad I listened because Psalms is exactly what I have been needing. This morning one of my verses was, Psalms 42:5 

Why am I so sad? 

Why am I so troubled?

 I will put my hope in God, 

and once again I will praise him, 

my saviour and my God

Day 60: March 1, 2014:

I'm becoming a fan of driving at night. It's just me and the road.

This was a hard day. It was difficult. It was a challenge. But I was reminded by the beauty of God's creations that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Finally a day without a migraine, which meant I got a ton of work done. I almost pulled an 11 hour work day. But once those kids left, I got SO much work done. I felt accomplished!

Seeing that I posted this status two years ago on this date was something I really needed to see that morning. 

Day 66: March 7, 2014:

I spent my evening at my first ever college tennis match! UGA vs Miss State. 

This week was absolutely horrible. Here's to hoping and praying that next week is much better!!

I haven't blogged in what feels like forever. Today's post is a little bit of everything I think:

Last week I introduced you to my boyfriend. This week I am introducing you to his sister, Juli! She is a wife, a sister, a friend, an encourager and a teacher who loves Jesus and her family. She has her own little etsy shop: Julianne By Hand. 

For Valentine's day JD had her make me these boot cuffs and a coffee cozy!

Are these not the cutest things ever!? Juli makes them herself and has a ton of colors you can choose from!

Ahhh! I am so in love with this coffee cozy!

Quick Update

Day 52: February 21, 2014: Enough said.

Day 53: February 22, 2014: We hung out with another couple this night and it was absolutely perfect. This is my favorite picture of us. :) 

 Day 54: February 23, 2014: Perfect sunset to end a perfect weekend!

Day 55: February 24, 2014: After a very rough day, sometimes just sitting in the silence of the car makes you realize how blessed you really are. 

Day 56: February 25, 2014: Learning to be still. 

Day 57: February 26, 2014: The night I met his mom for the first time she told me he has 'explaining hands'. I never realized it until this night at dinner. (Isn't he the cutest thing ever!)

Day 58: February 27, 2014: Sunshine was pouring through the windows and I got an unexpected evening with these two. 

Day 59: February 28, 2014: After a looonnnggg week I was finally able to catch up on my shows. So happy Grey's Anatomy is back on. 

Well here's to another good week. Hoping next week is better!!!
